Sam utilizes evidence-based approaches, in which she trained during her counselling & psychotherapy degree at the University of Toronto. She describes her style as eclectic, person-centered and deeply empathic to support clients in the achievement of their goals.
Sam believes that meaningful growth often begins just beyond the comfort zone, and she deeply respects the courage and vulnerability it takes to start therapy. Her interest in psychology originated in developmental neuroscience, with a focus on how the human brain grows, learns, and adapts across the lifespan. As a result, Sam has worked with a diverse range of clients in various roles and settings.
While Sam frequently supports individuals experiencing a variety of presenting concerns, including problems with interpersonal relationships, identity changes, mood-related challenges, obsessive-compulsive tendencies, neurodivergence, and perfectionism, she takes a collaborative and holistic approach to therapy. She draws primarily on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), thoughtfully tailoring treatment to each individual’s unique needs. Sam also integrates affirmative and trauma-informed approaches to ensure care is inclusive, compassionate, and grounded in safety. Together with her clients, she works to honour both strengths and challenges, fostering meaningful, long-term change and progress toward therapeutic goals.
