I am a psychotherapist using psychodynamic, interpersonal, and cognitive behavioural frameworks. I help my clients explore their values, and new ways of understanding their lives. I support experimentation with actions that align with values. At the heart of my approach is collaboration, creativity, and inclusion of the language of the body.
I draw from over 15 years working in the mental health system in Canada and the UK, along with professional training in relational gestalt psychotherapy, psychodrama, mindfulness practice, cognitive and dialectical behaviour therapies, solution-focused therapy, and transformational systemic therapy. At the heart of my work is compassion, humour, and support. During a session I invite you to bring all parts of yourself into the treatment and look at your struggles and strengths with kindness and responsibility. Clients describe me as playful, direct, warm, and understanding.
Some of the areas I work with are: anger, anxiety, addictions, bipolar and mood disorders, depression, divorce/separation, emotional wellness, grief, intimate relationships, loss, parenting, post-partum issues, regulating emotions, relationships, role transitions, sexuality, single parenting, and trauma.
