Tara McMahon is a compassionate, experienced therapist with over 15 years of supporting teens and adults through trauma, addiction, and life transitions. She brings a warm, collaborative presence to therapy, drawing on neuroscience, attachment theory, and trauma-informed care to help clients reconnect with themselves and create meaningful change.

Tara understands that our brains and bodies are deeply interconnected systems that shape how we experience life. They can help us feel joy, connection, and purpose—or hold us in cycles of fear, loneliness, and overwhelm. She believes that while it can be intimidating to face these struggles, doing so in therapy opens the door to healing, growth, and greater freedom.

Her clinical work began in correctional facilities supporting women impacted by trauma, and later expanded to include work with teens, adults, and survivors of trafficking. These experiences deepened her understanding of how the body holds trauma and how past experiences shape our ability to feel safe, love ourselves, and form healthy relationships.

Tara draws from CBT, narrative therapy, family therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and mindfulness to create personalized, holistic treatment plans. Grounded in empathy, curiosity, and respect, she meets each client where they are—helping them connect with both their mind and body to move toward the life they desire.
